I have met many people who have had to sell their home FAST, but were unable to. Some opted to rent their home remotely, others opted to try selling their home from a distance, while a few even had to just abandon their home all together.
The first thought many people have when selling their home is, "Where can I find the best Realtor", or "The Sister of that one person is a Realtor, Call Her."
The sad truth is, a Realtor is not necessarily the best option when selling your home. With so many Realtors eager to help you sell your home, it is virtually impossible to find THE ONE that actually does a good job.
Why?
Did you know that anybody can become a Realtor in under a month? But the education and classes they are expected to take to become licensed doesn't focus on how to sell a home, rather it focuses more on contracts and how to stay out of court!
So, where does a Realtor learn how to successfully sell a house?
Because the Real Estate market is a competitive one, they generally learn through trial an error. They gain their experience through the mistakes they make and the successes they have had. So, who ends up paying for their mistakes? The home owner who trusted the experience of a Realtor, and missed out on months of time and/or tens of thousands of dollars in the sale of their home.
Don't get me wrong, the right realtor is worth their weight in GOLD! I have GREAT Realtors that help me every day. But the only real way to tell if a Realtor is THE ONE, is to sell a house through them.
